NCOC Announces Winter Vacations For Educational Institutes of Pakistan

National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has announced the winter vacations for educational institutes of Pakistan. The meeting of NCOC was held on 17th December 2021 to decide about the schedule for the winter vacations. In the meeting, it had been decided that winter vacations in the educational institutes of Pakistan will start from 3rd January 2022. The decision is applicable for all the institutes except for the areas affected by the extreme conditions of weather. The NCOC meeting was chaired by the Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Reforms, and attended by many officials such as Coordinator NCOC, Federal Education Minister, and SAPM Dr. Faisal Sultan. Moreover, it has been announced that all the provinces will inform about the winter vacations accordingly.


Announcement of Winter Vacations

The decision regarding the winter vacations has been taken to maximize the uptake of vaccines among the students. The vaccination drives are operating in the educational institutes of Pakistan and by closing the institutes many students will remain unvaccinated. Moreover, the government has also instructed the people to get the vaccination to be saved from the deadly pandemic. Recently the spread of the Omicron variant has also increased the concerns and the government is taking all the precautionary measures to contain the spread of the pandemic. So the winter vacations in Pakistan have been scheduled for January so that there will be minimal disruption in the academic activities. The people are urged to get the vaccination so that the highest protection will be offered against the disease.

Statement Issued By Punjab Education Minister

The Punjab Education Minister, Murad Raas had earlier announced the winter vacations for the public and private schools of Punjab. As per the statement issued by the minister the winter vacations will start from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. The minister has advised to follow the COVID-19 related SOPs in order to curb the spread of the virus. Moreover, earlier the government of Sindh and the government of Balochistan had also announced the schedule of winter vacations across the province. In Sindh as per the announced schedule, the winter vacations will be observed from 20th December 2021 to 1st January 2022.
